Participants work to unravel a human knot at Leadership Conference 2009

Every July, Leadership Conference is held in Bloomington, Indiana which brings together leaders with and without intellectual disabilities from high schools and colleges worldwide, providing them with personalized training that develops leadership skills, advocacy, professionalism, inclusion, public speaking, and much more.
This year, Best Buddies Louisiana is sending over 20 participants. On average, Leadership costs Best Buddies $1700 per participant. Each participant is required to cover fees for his/her trip including airfare – most participants fundraise to cover the fees which are nearly $500.
This unique experience not only focuses on leadership skills but also challenges each participant to explore their full potential, tap into their powers to motivate others, and translate awareness into quality friendships.
Sponsoring a participant to attend leadership conference is one of the many ways to support Best Buddies Louisiana. You are facilitating these young adults to have the opportunity of a lifetime. These young adults will keep you updated on their experiences throughout Leadership Conference.
This impactful experience not only effects each participant, but allows our community to become richer with a more insightful and inclusion-focused youth. Over the past 20 years, Leadership Conference has inspired thousands of leaders to be Best Buddies ambassadors and to bring about social change in their communities.
